Fictional Siblings

Ever the maker of fictional lists, I've been giving some thought to characters I feel fiercely protective of in a familial way. I've only found this protective edge since the beginning of the year. Here are my fictional siblings.

1. Sam Winchester

I love my Sammy! Doesn't Happy Sam just melt your heart? When watching Supernatural I have never been attracted to Sam (with the exception of certain events in seasons five and six), but I did instantly feel protective of him. This is likely largely due to the fact that I am crazy about his brother Dean who would do anything for him. So I would do anything for him too.

2. Steve Rogers

I found my protective bond when watching Captain America: Civil War. Yes, Chris Evans is a super attractive man, but I feel a brotherly bond only with Steve. I want to give him a hug and tell him that it's going to be okay and give him date ideas for taking Sharon out.

3. Jon Snow

Kit Harrington is an exceptionally lovely human in real life, there's no doubt. But I wish his character was my brother. I love Jon. He is easily one of my favorite characters in the television series and he is my favorite perspective to read in the books. I wholeheartedly would be his fiercely loyal family.

4. John Diggle- He's the reason I keep watching Arrow. I would love it if this character was my brother. He's strong and sensitive and loyal. Man, loyalty is really seeming like my favorite trait--guess that's why I'll always be a proud Hufflepuff!

5. Brienne of Tarth

Last, but not least, this girl I'd call sister. She is so good hearted and loyal. She is so brave. I just want to be there for her and let her know sometimes it's okay to lean on someone else. That she does not have to be alone! I want to be more than her best friend. I want to be her sister.

Top Ten Fictional Crushes

So, I've decided to share with you something I had previously thought I would keep more to myself. It's my Top Ten Fictional Crushes! I was keeping it under wraps because (to me) it is quite personal and offers a look into my personality. But then I thought to myself: "Self! Only like three people read your blog, so if you wanna write a post about it #yolo." So, without further adieu, my top ten.

1. Will Graham

My favorite version of Will Graham is Hugh Dancy from the show Hannibal. Will's heart just completely breaks me. I just want to hug him and let him play with all of the dogs ever. I can't even talk about Will without getting super, girly-gushy and high pitched so I'm just going to stop here.

2. Dean Winchester (Supernatural)

Dean Winchester is the newest addition to my list, and he jumped a BUNCH of people to clench this number two spot. I very slowly accepted the feels for this man. At first, I only acknowledged him as the character I felt closest exhibited the way I think/feel/act. I still think that, but I'm accepting the fact that Dean is bae.

3. Dexter Morgan

Dexter was my number one for a long time. He is complicated and I can't explain exactly why I'm so drawn to him..I just told my sister that so far all of these men are very broody. She laughed at me..Hence the not sharing before.

4. Erik (The Phantom of the Opera)

Ohhhhh, people. My dad took me to see The Phantom of the Opera for the first time when I was in 8th grade. I loved every second of it. I begged him for the soundtrack when we left the theater and then proceeded to listen to it every free second of every day for at least the next month until every word was ingrained to my very soul. I read the book and though quite different, I still liked the character. He needs a hug.

5. Mal (Firefly)

I want Captain Malcolm Reynolds in my corner. He is smart. He is funny and daring. He is exceptionally loyal to the people he cares about. I want to be one of those people. I had always refused to watch Firefly. I'm not really sure why (I probably wanted to spare my delicate feels, I should have listened to myself). I am really glad that I finally broke down and did though, because otherwise I never would have met this wonderful man.

6. Castiel (Supernatural)

Men in trench coats looking perpetually confused though, amirite? I love watching Cas get more acquainted with human emotions. He is undeniably sweet, but he can be tough when he needs to be. Love, love, love.

7. Peeta Mellark (Hunger Games)

Peeta is probably the most wholesome character on this list. I really love his kind heart and the way he does not mind being in the background. He's protective, but not in an overbearing way. I absolutely loved him in the books so I was super excited when he was played by an actor I already had a teensy crush on. #teampeeta

8. Alexei Vronsky (Anna Karenina)

Sorry all, I couldn't find a good picture without Anna (Karenina). Kevin McKidd's portrayal of Count Alexei Vronsky has been my favorite. He's just such a passionate man. Stupidly so, but in a sweet kind of way. He is not the most well-rounded of characters, sure. He had plenty of faults. But boy can he love and that's what makes me love him.

9. Logan Huntzberger (Gilmore Girls)

I think the thing I like the most about Logan is how he challenges Rory to do more and be more. He's kind of a jerkface when she first meets him, but he grows up and becomes a really decent man. He pursues his dreams, but also encourages her to pursue her own.

10. Theodore Laurence (Little Women)

I LOVE Laurie's adventurous spirit. He just welcomes himself over to the March sister's house and joins on in to their fun. He is the kind of goofball I seriously want to have around.

Netflix and Gym

This week I discovered a new favorite hobby. I've always known that I enjoy watching something while I workout to keep my mind off the exercise and pass the time. This is part of the reason why I have kept my Gold's Gym membership. I highly enjoy the Cardio Cinema. I got to watch the whole last hour of Taken 3, which I would never have watched otherwise and got a nice workout in before work one day. And now the gym wifi works on my kindle so I can watch Netflix!

I got a new Fitbit on the New Year and this week I started a challenge with my friends. It definitely got my butt in gear trying to meet and surpass my walking goals. I brought my kindle to the gym because I'm re-reading Wild, but I chanced the wifi just to see if it would connect and load Netflix because I had been binging New Girl and only had two episodes left. It worked! I walked through the two episodes which is a 44 min walk. Most of the time I have to reason with myself just to get a 30 min walk in. The next day I decided to start a new series that I would only watch in the gym. I chose Making a Murderer because EVERYONE is talking about it. This episodes range from 44-66 mins so for the next 9 or so gym trips I'll be getting a splendid walk in. I'm very excited. Here are some other things I'm thinking about watching in gym only. Are there any shows you think I should add?

Parks and Recreation
Daredevil
Lost (although I think I would watch this at home too)
House of Cards
Scandal
Criminal Minds
